No writing coaches are assigned to CRA classes for fall term 2006, so I have posted some materials that students found helpful during the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 academic years. Some tutorials describe APA-compliant citations and show how to avoid accidental violations of academic integrity, such as plagiarism. Other documents provide information about finding and citing regulations and guidelines.

Applied Clinical Trials volume and issue numbers

Why Learn APA Style?
Other advice appeared in 2005-2006 editions of the Writer's Clinic columns in the GWU Clinical Research Administration Program Newsletter.
The Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (cdisc.org) publishes authoritative defintions in its CDISC Glossaries of clinical research terminology and abbreviations and acronyms.
Preparing an APA-compliant paper for a class in the CRA Program can be easier when you use a Word template that includes the APA styles. To learn how to use Word style sheets, check the Help menu in Microsoft Word. Some non-compliant references gleaned from literature review postings, and transformed to APA standard references may also be helpful.
Student research can often make a valuable contribution to the clinical research community. Faculty members who spot such a paper often encourage the author to turn it into a manuscript for submission to a professional journal. The CRA Publishing page can help you get started.
